Samsung TV

Hi,

I cant connect the samsung ES8000 TV whitch is a formal top line TV.

I think it wounld be better not to work with an list of TV types but to use the 4 digit remote control codes.
Thes are common when pairing a TV remote.

Try these common UNIVERSAL Samsung 4 digit remote control codes first:

  • Athom mist support for the most selling smart tvs arround the world....
they are also controlable by tcpip so why they dont support it yet is a mistery..

I just tested my D8000 briefly with an app on my iPhone (SamRemote), and it is able to control it through the network. So there is at least some kind of API. Not sure if this is a very simple (barely usable) API which is just ok to build a remote, or wether it can also receive a bit more complex commands. Like set the input source to HDMI 3 or set the volume to 26. It might just be able to handle volume up, select source and browse through the list manually to select a source etc.

I really hope someone with more knowledge on this is capable of assessing the possibilities and perhaps willing to create an app.
  • lots of apps for android ios windows and linux are available. Somit should be doable
