reach of KaKu devices - doorbell

Hi all,

my kaku doorbell is approx 4 meters apart from the Homey, and only when I bring it closer it seems to respond to each other
any suggestions on how to improve this?

    Anything inbetween? You can extend the range of transmitters by using this device: http://www.klikaanklikuit.nl/shop/nl/producten/signaalversterker-aex-701/

    Apparently the range of battery-powered devices is really bad, especially when there's a wall between it (i presume the doorbell is on the outside of your house and the rest on the inside)? Seems like a logical explanation... OTOH, connecting to the mesh network will only be done at the moment the button is pushed but I don't know whether Homey needs a different signal then other 433 devices?
