extra files in app

the apps use a few files predefined filenames which are put in a dir while athom-cli creates the app . can i add other files next to them and reference them in my app.js  ? the hue app has a lot of files and dirs.

Sure. app.js is just an entry point. The whole app is standard node app and you can use commonjs as you want. You can take a look at YouTube app how I organised files https://github.com/matjaz/homey-youtube/blob/master/app.js
