Luckily I live in a small village where we look after each other. If there would be in an intrusion, I could quickly call people to check it out if I'm away from home. And no, it doesn't give you 'protection' as such, but it does warn you.

Done!

@Mruiter my purpose is not to get a discount from my insurance company or to have a rock solid security system without flaws. I just want basic protection against burglars and that does work with Z-Wave. BTW, more and more Z-Wave devices aimed towar…

The tricky part of a line out is that I'd only want to use that for *music*, not for talking to Homey. Otherwise, when the line out jack is plugged in but my receiver is OFF, I won't be able to hear Homey talking...

+1 For the Arm/Disarm functionality. It's a very valuable feature for people who want to use Z-Wave sensors for security purposes. I use this a *lot* in my current Vera setup. Many 'scenes' (flows in Homey) have something like this: "if sensor X is …

DaneeDeKruyff said: The decision to ship only the first batch to make the needed support more managable is totally understandable, great move, but as you yourself state it's '10-20 you found on the forum, slack etc' that's the problem, we are a…

Suggestion to Homey staff: in this stage a daily statement would be great. Costs you guys 5 mins to write, and saves you a lot of time replying to all those questions. Tell us daily what you are doing, how bugs are coming in, how production is going…

Fire69 said: Just check https://github.com/athombv/homey/issues Obviously people are testing their homey and finding bugs. Maybe @Emile is too much of a perfectionist and doesn't want to send out more before issues are fixed. The issue i…

I hope you'll do this in the iOS app as well. And that it comes out fast. I don't have Android here.

Emile said: Yes! YESSSSS! Utterly cool! This is something that I never really got properly working with the Vera. I'm very very happy with this @Emile, thanks!

kasteleman said: novaflash said: This is true; it has to be z-wave plus. Homey fortunately is, but I don't know about Vera. If it is, then this can be done. If not; tough luck. Vera Edge has z-wave plus, the earlier versions i b…

Sounds like I just need to reset the Z-Wave network on the Vera and then re-include everything on the Homey. Less error-prone... Bit of a hassle but maybe the best. Unfortunately I already had to do a full reset on the Vera a couple of days ago beca…

If you don't mind @Fire69 I would rather not have Facebook have a peek into my house.... they know more than enough already...!

Within the Z-Wave specification you should also be able to do a 'controller shift'.... Which basically comes down to this: Controller A is primary. B is a new controller. A shifts control to B. Now B is primary, A is secondary. You can then switch o…

So cool! Can't wait to play with Homey, the appstore etc.

P.S. do you ever sleep @Emile? :P

Cool! Is the 239 option a first batch????

Any idea's on cheaper solutions than Forest would still be appreciated. They are just insanely expensive.

Indeed . I backed in the first few days. But still curious what this means for expected delivery of my XMas gift . @Emile ar you at liberty to shine a tiny bit more light in here? Oh and of course I wish the Athom team and all geeks here a Merr…

+1 on the Fibaro's. They are cute and small and work exceptionally well. They are good value for money. I wrote a review on them a while back: http://brighters.nl/2014/11/15/de-fibaro-bewegingssensor/ (in Dutch)

Cool! Congrats! What is the estimated shipping date for a 'normal' backer? (the 229 euro one).

I currently use the Fibaro motion and door/window sensors in combo with a MiCasaVerde Vera 3. Works quite nicely, although the software on the Vera3 is horrible. Very much looking forward to my Homey! So yes, you can use the Fibaro stuff. They ha…

I use ZoneMinder (Open Source, Linux) for analyzing the stream from my Foscam FI9805W. It eats up all CPU on an Intel Atom D525... but works rather nicely. I suspect this will be too heavy for Homey.

Oh yeah! An old fashioned 'flatfeest' style meetup on Campus!

Hi everybody, I'm a 39 years old independently working IT Project Manager from the Netherlands. I mainly work for government and healthcare. At home I have a Z-Wave installation with a MiCasaVerde Vera 3 which I have love/hate-relationship with . T…
