  • You can change the rainbow in the settings. I have it on a soothing pulse
  • My girlfriend and I trained our voice together and it works pretty good. I created a repeat-after-me flow to check if it understands me correctly and it is about 80% spot on.  I looked at some of the apps to see how they were programmed and it turn…
  • p0nts said: not sure what band the homey uses but maybe you've only enabled 5 Ghz and homey is 2.4?  Maybe i talk bullshit but thats what I can come up with so soon, I had the same with my Toon. Homey only recognizes my 2.4 network, but i…
  • Some more unboxing photos: Raspberry pi for scale. Speaker at the bottom is nice and loud. Very easy to hear.  There is a small issue with the USB cable though... It pushes Homey over

  • Homey just successfully joined the hive mind! I have 2 wireless networks. After a hard-reset, I made sure I was connected to the same network. After a minute or so, the setup continued.  BTW, is really looks awesome in reallife.
  • The PostNL app still says it is ging to deliver this morning. I know you do everything to deliver as soon as posdible, but time travel really is not nessesary.
  • I'm suddenly feel ill... *cough, *cough... I might need to stay home tomorrow...
  • After franticly refreshing the app as fast as humanly posdible, the sending just popped up! Our faith had been rewarded. The time of world dominantion is here! Thank you athom!
  • No confirmation yet... I upgrades to a geek edition later. Hope it got processed
  • Fibaro sensors are loaded with features and supposedly pretty good quality. Motion sensors also has temperature and lux sensor. Wall plug can measure current power use. So, instead of 2 sensors/devices, you get 5! I'm strongly considering ordering s…
  • I realized I do not have a power outlet on the toilet, so an easier solution might be to connect a raspberry pi to the lamp and have it start an mp3 during boot. The internet suggested to play "Let it go"
  • Some apps have a beta program. Would it be an idea for Homey to adopt a similar strategy? I'd use the beta app by default and temporarily fall back to the stable version when something is broken.
  • Athomey said: For example! You understand me! (Though at the moment I have the Muppets theme song when entering.) This is going on my top 10 homey improvement projects just below playing the thunderbird theme when opening/closing the curtains.
  • We only watch streamed content on our TV (Netflix, youtube) via chromecast. The chromecast can turn the TV on control volume. The only thing we use the remote for is to switch it of. This is definitely something Homey can replace very easily and I e…
  • Emile said: Our production seems to be working again. We still have a few minor bugs that make it a little bit slower than we'd like, so we'll probably squash them tomorrow, and then we can go go go! Great news! I know how frustrating …
  • +1 for Homey. I'm looking forward to sharing all the fun i'm going to have with it.
  • Lol, I also noticed the app crashed and though to report the bug, but that no longer seems to be needed. Guess I'm not the only one who sometimes opens the app just to look at it while waiting for my Homey #anticipation.
  • There are switches which van do that. Most switches for garage doors or blinds have relais separate from their own power, so they can act like a switch for a wire with no current on it. http://www.klikaanklikuit.nl/shop/nl/producten-1/amu-501/ for …
  • I'd start with code academy. It's a nice way to get you going.
  • You really need to update the app's icon. Some shading on the sphere might be nice. It is the first things I have seen from you guys which does not look gorgeous.
  • p0nts said: Jaap, could you explain what you mean? Homey can control anything that is controlled by both the homewizard and the hue bridge, and combine them. How is that not superior? If you want to have a kaku switch control you h…
  • I would suggest to combine both to reduce costs. Use z-wave for the main switch and light and cheap coco/kaku for additional switches and remotes. Homey should be able to combine both so they work well together. After a few weeks you will experience…
  • I currently use HomeWizard to control Hue scenes, so in that regard, Homey is not superior. The possibilities of Homey are however more extensive. Homey can choose colors randomly or based on the season for example.
  • That is a great idea! Google keep had some nice features to manage andere share lists. The synchronization is better then appie in my opinion.
  • We currently have a HomeWizard and although it started with using the app frequently, now I only use it to make manual corrections. We have remotes and wireless switches on strategic location. The are programmed with scenes which include set dimmed …
  • I used to be a programmer, but these days I only design software and hardly ever do coding anymore. I'm currently practicing my javascript and I'm really looking forward into getting my hands dirty again. Also, if you are interested in learning s…
  • I read Nest can support OpenTherm now...
  • jorden said: Just received a mail yesterday, Monkey has reached their $100.000 stretch goal which means: integration with Apple HomeKit, Nest, Smartthings, IFTTT, Wink and Homey. Awesome! Damn you! Now I HAVE to back it...
  • The most dangerous factor in security is always human stupidity (or lack of knowledge). Most of us will have tons of security leaks from our smartphones, TVs, routers and computers. Rather than securing everything, I prefer to make people aware of w…
