As stated in the title. Is this possible?
So when Homey speaks, it is not homey that speaks, but homey telling sonos to speak. That would be awesome......

Sorry don't have a play 5. Playbar en 2 play3. So i guess i have to wait on another update?
  • Or something needs to be added to the Sonos app. Home Assistant has this functionality already so it's not impossible.
  • This is possible, but you have to install Sonos HTTP API (https://github.com/jishi/node-sonos-http-api) somewhere, for instance on a NAS. You could than use the Say functionality (see readme on Github on how to use). You can than create a flow in Homey that calls the Sonos API when Homey says something and repeat this on a Sonos speaker.

Ok, sounds good. But do you mean, that i will hear it twice?"

You can mute homey by inserting a 3.5mm audio jack that isn't connected to a speaker I believe.
Maybe first look into Homey's settings and see if there is a mute option  o:)

Is it already possible that you let the homey speak through the sonos speaker (no sonos 5 with 3,5mm jacket)?
  • Poking this question once more =)
Any progress of redirecting Homeys voice from the homey speaker to a sonos speaker insted?

I would like to know also, since I have a Homey and Sonos through out the house
  • @BasPost @iwan

The solution provided by @runderk is actually a really good solution and works well for me. I use Google Home as a speech interface so I don't have the issue of hearing it twice.

Ok, but do you mean that GH interfaces between homey and sonos? Or do you mean that google home is speaking.
I would like to have the speech on sonos....
