i have a green mounten grill / smoker witch I want to control with Homey , however the WiFi controller in the grill goes by DHCP and changed the ip number almost every time. Is there a possebillety to connect whit the MAC adress ?

Static adress in modem or router or on the smoker itself should solve this problem I guess? Give it an adress higher than your dhcp pool.

You can solve this by fixing an IP to the device/mac.
Most of the router has such a feature.

Indeed, what type of router do you have? There's probably someone here with the same type (or at least brand) who can tell you how to make a DHCP reservation.

I was thinking a simple house automation by starting with homey, lamps downstairs, lamps on the stairs, sunscreen etc. This was the first time my mouth opened for 10 seconds...

A grill/ smooker on dhcp, the iot is here and for sure i'm getting old, first grey hairs are visable in the mirror.

That is a nice grill. Did consider one f them as well, but decided for the BGE.I hope one day Homey will be integrated with iGrill (already homekit compatable).
