Best z-wave socket with power meter

Hello I am looking for new sockets, which are perfect for homey. At this moment I have some aeon labs but the support is not very good.

Comments

  • Neo seem to be good, and cheap
  • yes , cheap and good.. Neo is youre choice
  • And the Neo homey support is good? With power meter function?
  • Yep, the app supports everything you will need

    Yep. Fully implemented  B)
    Also the power meter function:

    Accumulated power consumption, actual power:

    Actual current and actual volate:

  • Perfect, cause i bought some neo from gear best a few weeks ago. Thanks!!!
  • But the Neo only support 2000w
i wanna use the sockets for my washer and dishwasher (2400W)

2400W when using both at the same time I assume?
You could use 2 plugs to separate the appliances? That way you can measure them more accurately also

No, I mean one socket per device.

the washer needs 2400 w and the dishwasher too (per device). And I have two Neos but everyone should only used with max 2000w.

  • In the manual that Neo Coolcam provides with the power plug it is mentioned:
The load connected with the power plug shouldn't exceed 2500W to avoid damaging the power plug.

See my comment in the NEO Z-wave topic

Runs fine here with my Grohe Red (boiling water applicance), washing machine and dryer
  • My Neo doesn't show power meter! Do you changed the groups? By default homey is only in group 1
  • When did you add it to homey; all meters have been implemented as of Neo app version 1.1.6.

If they are not available, you should re-pair the plug to add the additional capabilities.

If that is needed, I would suggest to wait for Homey version 1.1.4, since with this version these capabilities will be standard capabilities and not custom capabilities as implemented in Neo app version 1.1.6.

Neo app version 1.1.13 is available in the app store compatible with Homey 1.1.4

I am using the latest app 1.1.10 and homey 1.1.2. And I have paired it with this versions. I have repaired them but no solution.

I will update it to 1.1.4.
    Edit:
Now i have Homey 1.1.4 with Neo 1.1.13. Devices repaired but same problem!!!

Interessing: the new Z-Wave log shows:

  • And you're working out of the Homey app? of from a browser?
What is showing and what not on the mobile card and in insights? Can you share a screenshot?

In the Homey app, the slider (as shown in my screenshot taken from Chrome) is not clearly visible. So Current and Voltage will only be shown if you slide the other 2 sensor icons (power consumption and actual power) to the left.

I don't have an opportunity to test it remotely on 1.1.4 (currently in US), will check this weekend when I'm back in NL

  • @Jschuetz try including your socket as "connected to other" and not one of the other options

    @caseda
    What exactly are you meaning?

I have paired one over the Neo App and one over homey z-wave
  • @Jschuetz When including you get the option to choose what is connected to your plug, choose the default one. (other)
the way you start the inclusion won't change anything in the device itself.
  • While including the power plug to Homey, you get the question what is connected to it... you should choose "other" here (not socket or light or kettle)

more important is the max current that can be swiched, for the NEO this is 12 Amps, so if you are on 230Volts then 2400Watt is 10,4 Amps so no problem, on 110Volts you would have a problem  with 21,8 Amps.
  • Thank you very much! Now it looks good!
  • Hi,
I would appreciate your experiences with the NEO Power Plugs. I have three, but they are terribly unreliable. First one is 1 meter from homey  (works most of the time), second is 5 meters from homey (50% error rate) and the third one is one meter max, from the second one (separate by a door but still). This last one has error rate of 89% practically never works. Meshing seems to work occasionally only. Now ordered a Fibaro one, double the price, I hope I will see a difference. Btw it seems restarting the NEO driver improved somewhat but cannot yet confirm this. Thanks, Jacques

I had the same experience, i had 2 NEO's and 1 Fibaro, 1 Neo worked good, one was always "lost" , the Fibaro works always.
I pulled the Neo's out , to unreliable.
But others have good experience with them, so its a strange thing.

No problems with neo`s, bu be onest the price different between fibaro and Neo must be somewhere so…...
