How can switch everything that's connected to an Zwave/Kaku/Zigbee module and/or can communicate over IR.
So if your Airco has the ability to be turned of with and external contact; connect an zwave module to it and Homey can switch your Airco.

The remotec zxt-120 is a zwave controller that sends ir signals to a airco. But I think that homey needs a code to tell the remotec which signal to send.

The ZXT-120 is just an HVAC module, so with the right homey driver/app it should work.

  • jovinkjovink Member

I hope somebody can make a app for homey.
    Maybe this is useful https://github.com/bdahlem/device-type.zxt-120

  • I'm looking for almost a year to integrate my Panasonic inverter AC in my domotica system (HomeWizard/Homey/Harmony) and this Remotec ZXT-120 ends my quest!!! Thanks for bringing this into the forums! Hopefully it will work with my o so beloved Homey, when it comes!

Just received an email from Tado.com that the announced some sort of AC smart Bridge.
    https://www.tado.com/us/

In March of this year the also announced IFTTT and API support.

Maybe its something for the Homey/AC guys :)

It is very expensive. 214 dollars. The remotec is 79 euros.

Remotec has no onboard touchscreen for reading/changing values of your AC.
Ok, most AC's have a remote control, but Tado gives you also more stuff to play with :)

But never the less; its indeed expensive

Touchscreen is not important for me. Maybe we can ask homey for the status. Or with the app and I can see it on the AC itself.

Maybe homey can support both. ;)

My remotec is delivered this morning so I hope it will be supported;)!

  • Does anyone has any idea if the Remotec ZXT-120 could be used for any IR device as a Homey IR extender?

For example; homey (placed in living room) sends a z-wave signal to ZXT-120 (placed in bedroom) and the ZXT-120 will send a IR signal to my TV/speaker system/led IR controller/etcetera.

It should be. If Athom or someone else wrote a driver for it

  • would be also interested in that - or whatever other solutions (rm2, etc). for an working ir extender with homey

    Hi,
This is a pretty old topic...

I'm just wondering if someone already tried this? Does Homey support the ZXT120 module for controlling the (almost all models of) AC ?

    Thanks
  • Since every Z-Wave device needs a driver to function, someone needs to create one for this one.
Have read the manual real quick and is should work.
One thing I'm not sure of if Homey supports the

    Thermostat Command Class:
ƒ - Thermostat Mode Command Class
ƒ - Thermostat Fan Mode Command Class
    ƒ - Thermostat Set‐point Command Class
  • Just received the ZXT-120 as well as it's successor, the ZXT-600 and will start including support for them into the Remotec app

@TedTolboom Nice, keep us updated. This is something I am quite interested in for future purchases :)

    looking also for this solution.
  • Also Looking forward to it
  • I have a Heavy Industries air-conditioner myself and tried to pair  the remote with Homey .... No success. Looking for a solution I found the IntesisHome. It works on WiFi and with almost all airco brands.  You can control your airco from all over the world and maybe someone is able and interested to build an app for it.

    Nice one.
There are many things to control any air con, if you own a Logitech Harmony Ultimate, same it can be controlled from anywhere in the world by using the  existing Logitech app in the Athom store.
However, the nifty way will come once @TedTolboom will have the ZXT-120/600 done  ;)
  • Today I recieved the ZXT-120 and was hoping that one of the apps would work with ir extender for my AC. But didn’t find one. Is Homey or somebody else working on an app? Hope to see your reply’s.
  • Hi guys,

I forked Ted's repo and modified the ZXT120 to support only temperature and mode. Couldn't get the fan speed working. I'm also using less UI compared to Ted's.

At least you can change temperature and AC mode for now on ZXT 120. Please use the SDK2 branch.

Have not worked on the flow cards but I hope this helps.
  • Initial support for the ZXT-120 is added to the Remotec app..
  • True!!

zxt120 and zxt600 should be very similar so i just want to kindly ask, if there is any chance to add at least initial support for zxt600

    Anyone got this working?
I'm thinking of buying a Remotec zxt-120 but I found on severall sites that the Remotec ZXT 120 is not supported on Athom Homey so.....there;s my question does it  or doesn't it work with with homey because spending 82 euro's is  something to think about.

I use that Remotec scene master for several months now, and it works perfect with Homey.
  • @muatvm adding support for the ZXT-600 is currently being worked on by @limkopi78
But I suggest to move all app relevant questions to the Remotec topic: https://forum.athom.com/discussion/3113/
