Location is not recognized (Solved)

Hi there,

I have my Homey set up with 2 users. 1 is myself (Owner) and one is my wife (user). We both have the app installed with our own account.
I can see wether my wife is away or not. But I can't see my own location. Or better said: Homey can't see my location.

When I go to the Insights, I can only see my Wife as a user, not myself.

When I go to location on the Homey-app (Android), I shows me that my location is at Home, even whem I'm not.... :-(

I've checked the site https://my.athom.com/#/phones, and there it shows 1 phone, so that's looking good

What am I doing wrong?

  • The location in the app is the placement of your Homey, not of yourself. If you want that, you might use Owntracks with https://apps.athom.com/app/nl.scanno.owntracks for example.

  • Force closing the app on your phone or switching the setting in the app for localisation might work.

Other then that, the built-in feature of the "old" app never worked good for me. So like bvdbos suggested, you might look into alternatives to track presence.

Not quite. I've given de Homey device it's own account than on my phone, and now it's working like a charm. So now I can use the Homey app to detect my location and use that to start flows. No need for a thirt-party app.

    Problem solved :-)
  • @Ferry Please clarify. You've given Homey it's own account on your phone?
