Shopping list

Now during the christmas shopping you get an idea Bout making a meal and all of the sudden you think about to buy ice cream. How would it be that you can say" Homey please add 8cecream on the supermarket list"
In the supermarket you can recall this list to be helpfull during shopping

Maybe with the name of the supermarket or if no name then the default market.
it would be great if homey can order the products. So you can go to a pick up point to pick up your goods.

  • Does Appie have an api? http://www.ah.nl/mijnlijst

  • That is a great idea! Google keep had some nice features to manage andere share lists. The synchronization is better then appie in my opinion.

  • @JaapPelt : Google keep does not seem to have an API... I had the same thought. So anyone who knows where to keep a shopping list with an API to have homey add items to the list... please share your thoughts...

  • I've never had sync problems with Appie and the real power is that it can sort according the layout of the particular store you're in, support for it in Homey would definatly be cool!

  • Maybe something like evernote?

  • Or integration with Zapier? I know you can use Zapier to create a row with data from one app to send it to a predefined google spreadsheet?

At the moment I still use an edited version of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vOvDFxn76g or my grocerylist and (part of) home automation.

Perhaps more on-topic the "Big Oven" api (http://api.bigoven.com/) might be a cool starting point for a shopping list? It also includes numerous recipes.
Edit: I see now that its not free to use the api, pity.

"Hey Homey, tonight I want to cook Pasta Bolognese"

  • +1 voor appie ;)
  • thanks spoelly. And even better: with Zapier you can create tasks in Asana, so you get an actual check list!

  • Trello app by Athom?!
  • I use an iOS app, "Buy me a pie" which has a syncronize function for shopping lists. Would be great if it would be something like this. That way, i can sync the shoppinglist with Homey, myself and the GF.

I also think that Trello could be the right platform for this. Decent API also and apps for all platforms. You could also use it for reminders, to-do's etc.

I also use iOS Reminders for checklist, and share my shopping list between Siri, my girlfriend, and my macbook (and iPhone). Nevertheless, since it's Apple, it's closed and Athom won't touch it. I'm not aware of any way of integrating into Apple Apps, so am planning to (forcefully) migrate to some other app...
  • If Homey can work with  the Egg Minder from Quirky, you've already got one item added on your shopping list

Egg Minder wirelessly (Wi-Fi) connects to your mobile device to track the number of eggs you have and tell you when they’re going bad. In-tray LED lights indicate the oldest egg, while push notifications alert you when you’re running low.
  • Agree, just ran into those googling around
But who needs an Amazon Dash button when Homey can work with any button (simple doorbell)

I'm sure we were all talking about a software possibility. If you're talking hardware, then I'd once again try to plug this. It may cost more then an Amazon button, but it can do three separate things at once. Then again, still talking software solution

Maybe this new system of trello to incorporate other services is a nice step-up.

  • For the Dutch ... The appie app seems to have a hidden REST interface. This could probably be used by Homey as well if someone would create an app for this.

  • Haha seems @DieterKoblenz is already trying some stuff with this api for appie  :D https://github.com/svdgraaf/appie
  • Haha yeah though not for Homey but for my kitchen touchscreen computer ;)

Haven't been able to get this Api working yet (but then again, my python skills are very limited). Though the (hidden) REST api works :D
  • Is there a program anyone can suggest to use if you want to start building apos? Id like to give it a go so any help uis welcome!
