Which Z-wave dimmer choice would be the best for this situation?

Hello all,

I am in the following situation;

I have two lighting points in the living room (25 m2), one with 3 Hue gu10 spots and one point with a cluster of 5 E14 25 watt lamps.
 Both are switched from one unit in the wall. Untill now this is done with a double switch. I would like to dim the cluster of 5.
The Hue lights should always be on because it is still operated by the app or homey.
Because I also want to make my z-wave mesh better, I want a double switch, at least one with dimmer.
Now there's so much to get, what is a proven good choice to use with homey?

Thanks,

Martijn

  • My best guess is a Fibaro Dimmer 2. Don't attach the Hue to it, they don't like that. Also use a pulse switch so u can dim the E14 bulbs. When u have a double pulse switch u can also make flows to switch on the Hue lights with it. But again: Don't attach the Hue to the dimmer!
  • I thought about the dimmer 2. And also with a switch on top. Would it be possible to dimm the e14 bulbs and bypass the module for the Hue then but with activation by switch? So i can basicly turn the hue lights on or off and use the module only for the e14 lights?

  • Correct! U Will need a double pulsdrukker for it tho
  • So if I stand correct I have to order this products;

    https://www.robbshop.nl/fibaro-dimmer-2-module-250w
    https://www.robbshop.nl/jung-dubbele-puls-drukker

    To achieve;

    - on/off philips hue spots (3 x gu10) in one armature @ 230v  (practical allways on)
    - dimm /on/off 6x18 watt connected as one light @ 230v by Z-wave / Homey

  • Correct! But we don't wanna attach the Hue to the simmer . So they need to be powered on with no switch. With the double switch (dubbele pulsdrukker) u can make a flow to turn the Hue on or off, or dim or whatever u like.
  • I've ordered this one and it works like a charm! Very nice!

  • Very nice indeed!
