connecting two homey's

hallo

i have two homey's.

one in the livingroom (homey) and one in a bedroom (homey slk) beside the livingroom.

is there a possibility to let the homeys speak to each other?

what i mean is , can i speak to one homey and ask to let a flow work on the other homey. or is there any communication between the homey's ?

for exemple if homey 1 do or say something that homey 2 performes an action or say something ...

thx

  • Homey can communicate by voice or by using the HTTP / IFTTT app to trigger eachother. There is no native support for it (yet) and not high on the priority at the moment.

    Homey can communicate by voice
    If i had 2 homey i would so make a few flows and put them next to one another and let them fight / argue over the color of there led rings.

    Homey one: Hey homey i blue looks realy stylisch
    Homey two: I'm more of a pink guy myself.
    Homey one: i should try that then --> led ring to pink
    Homey two: mmm it does not suit you, you should try orange --- turns orange
    and that in a loop!

    But. i realy don't see the point of having two homey's. Having 2 homeys in one house is like a car with two steering wheels There are other ways of interacting with homey over distance (microphones and speakers).

    i can tell you that at sybrands place (where also the dev meetup is organized) we also do this haha :) It's a office  right where boats pass and we have a doorbell if we press it Homey one tells us to wave and sounds a horn while Homey two will respond with Homey stop with that sound :P While two Homey's can be practical, one homey on stable and one on experimental / developer preview for testing :)

    @Rebtor

    i  have two homey's because i use IR for TV in the bedroom.

    the livingroom is to far from the garden so homey1 can't reach this and homey 2 is able to controle this.

    :-)

    @lubbertkramer

    thx i try using IFTTT

  • You could try this instead of two Homey's:
    http://www.homecontrols.com/Zipato-Z-Wave-to-IR-Extender-ZPRMZXT120US

    And use Amazon Dot for voice, or a raspberry pi with Google Home.
    It's a shame both services doesn't support Dutch (yet)

    Instead of the Zipato, I would use the original Remotec version: https://www.robbshop.nl/infrarood-bediening-remotec
    I will be adding support for it, including for it's successor, to the Remotec app soon.
