It would be nice to be able to set-up multiple locations for homey to check. Like 'work' so you can trigger something when you leave work

I have iOS device. Have looked at doing this with IFTTT but that is extremely laggy. Late responses. And Owntrack is to much work .

This forum is a community forum. Therefore Athom isn't monitoring this 24/7.
The category is there to discuss about ideas or suggestions, some things might already be possible.
For you to get an official response from Athom on your request, the best way is on Github

And to get back on topic, i think this is possible using Owntracks.

True, but that's al lot more work on my end. You need to buy an additional R-Pi and install sowftware from OwnTracks. I think this is to far from wat i am asking. I do not now how the backend works of the Homey iOS Location services. Maybe it is more work for homey

Nah, owntracks is an app on your phone. And you need an MQTT broker that could be in the cloud. (this is the part in the tutorial that they use the RPI for)

But it should be a nice future request to set multiple geofences in the map view. And a trigger to each of the locations.
OwnTracks is a nice alternative, and i think because of an already working solution a feature request is going to take time...

I've found the following on this forum: https://forum.athom.com/discussion/2810/use-cloudmqtt-as-a-broker-for-owntracks-or-mqtt-app

I wil try to use that first and hoping on developers to implement this into Homey

As far as i know a broker can't be running on Homey (takes some resources).
Just get a private Mqtt tracker in the cloud, the homey app and the owntracks app on your phone, that should be enough :)
  • Im using the Owntrack solution, got my broker installed on my Synology NAS. But I can tell you the Owntrack solution works really neat! I have triggers when I leave home, work, sports and the Amsterdam Arena.

So getting your broker in the cloud (if you dont want to host it yourself) is worth the time investigating.

I can't get this to work. I use CloudMQTT with Owntracks iOS and Owntracks Homey Client. Can't get a read
