Cloud services requirements - essential?

Does Homey requires cloud services to run?

If yes, what happens if Athom stops providing it, will Homey be dead?

Look at the FAQ on the Athom website ro find an answer on FAQ, here the item you are looking for -> https://www.athom.com/en/support/KB000028/

Homey will keep working, with some features disabled and you can only connect to the ip on the local network (not through my.athom.com) and apps need to be installed bij CLI

OK, that's good to know that at least it won't be totally dead, and essential processing is local.

Of course I wish Athom well, however I am realistic enough that any new company may be gone at any time  :)
  • The worst case scenario is Homey by Apple  :D
