What sensors to be used with Homey?

Does anyone has any good experience with sensors in combination with Homey?
I have bought (and discarded) several KAKU sensors, the transmitting range is very limited so, unuseable ...
Fibaro sensors ("eye") for some reason, it worked for a short while, but not aymore (strange thing is, during the day I get some notifications but at night (almost) never (and when it does the behaviour of my Hue lights have recently changed (first the blinked, now they change color ??? )
Also any settings made in the fibaro sensor are apparently not carried out ....

  • You mean motion-sensors? Or temperature? Or humidity?

As for saving settings in Fibaro, be sure to first wake up your device (or wait a few days until 1.1.4 firmware is out).

But HUE and Fibaro don't aren't connected unless you made a flow to connect them?

The blinking in Hue could be a known issue for the latest app-version:

but color might actually be due to a fix:

    Thanks for your response!
all sensors i meant, only netatmo is working flawless for me untill now.
    Okay I'll try again ...
Yes homey connect all together (off course i would say :-)
    Hue, I will check github!
  • I have some Hue Motion Sensors, and they work fine. However, you have te connect the Hue sensors to a hue bridge. Hue sensors talk zigbee protocol. Homey has a zigbee chip on board, but this chip is not activated yet. Connecting a hue sensor to the hue bridge and then connect the hue bridge to your home wil work. But.....the hue bridge is not capable to forward a signal to the homey. Therefor the homey is polling the status of the sensor. Homey check's every 5 seconds what is happening in the hue bridge. So, I can take up to 5 seconds before homey knows that there is a motion detected.

  • I have been using primarily Kaku sensors for the past few years, but the range of Homey is indeed not sufficient for all casts. I'm happy with my Fibaro upgrades as the mesh network allows for good coverage and each sensor is packed with features.

I recently added a hue motion sensor because I was curious. I have it sitting next to the Fibaro sensor to test the results. So far, I'm most impressed with the hue motion sensor. Very easy to set up, looks pretty good and the auto configuration is nice to get you started.

After the test, it will go in the hallway to directly control the lights there based on motion via the hue bridge. Homey will be able to trigger some additional flows if needed.
