adding zipabox to homey error

Hello,

My Name is Geert,
Today I received my Homey. in addition to my zipabox that i have for a couple of years.
Looks smooth so far.
When I want to add my zipabox through the settings > z-wave .> include homey to another network
in my zipabox I'm adding a new device. it finds it. but while it is configuring the the new device I get the error message:
manufacturer_specific_report not received
in my homey app it says it is connected and i can exclude it. it gets a node number.
But I don't see anything in my zipabox. and in Homey I don't see my devices.

Help needed for this beginner.

  • Have you installed the app?
    http://apps.athom.com/app/nl.aartse.zipato

There you can find the supported devices

I want to include the whole zipabox. not just a device from zipato as a manufacturer.

    Other Z-Wave Networks

Homey is the controller in your Z-Wave Network. After including Homey in another Z-Wave Network

  • i used diff approach, just switched off my zipabox en started from scratch with Homey include devices ( which are in fact all fibaro dimmers and switches ) First attempt did not work, include failed, but then i used Homey option exclude for each device first, then rerun include. Is some work but finished all worked like a charm. Only part i do not use with Homey is voice, starting flows via buttons/remotes works fine for me.
  • That is the point, I don't want to re-include every device 20+ at the moment. almost all in-wall models.
I saw this option, and it would be great is I could "cluster" the homey to the zipabox.
only it gives me the error message as described above when I want to add the homey to the zipabox.
  • bump. there is nobody who can help me with this problem?
is there some sort of support to communicate with athom engineers? can't find a support page. only the FAQ.
  • https://github.com/athombv/homey/issues/1215 is related I guess. I would file a Github Issue for this...

No there isn't. You could try slack, but there your also have as much chance as here (by asking on slack also you theoretically double your changes ;)

Also don't forget homey is still "beta".
  • thanks for the information. so github is used to report your issue. got it.
I know it is in beta, that is why i want to use it as secondary controller.
if it is stable, the zipabox will go. but I still miss some critical things in homey.
example: scene making, creating groups for devices. and a proper App.
  • groups for devices: https://github.com/athombv/homey/issues/478
scene-making : don't know what you mean exactly but you could file an issue for that too
proper App: I know Athom wants to change a lot of things (open issues) but they still have  a job vacancy...
  • scene-making : don't know what you mean exactly but you could file an issue for that too
scene making: in my zipabox I got scenes. example: Evening falls.
This sets my roller blinds down, turns on the front door light, turns on the lights in the serre and in the garden.
In the morning I got a scene Morning Comes. this disables all the lights. and opens the roller blinds.
    all by one click.

install Sun Events from the app store

and use something like this in the IF column

and there are much more options you can use
  • and if you want to do it with a button in the App then make a virtual button with f.e. Better logic or use a klikaanklikuit socket (No need to have a socket just generate a signal)
  • I know that, already got it. but then then i have to add all my devices manual to set its state. with a scene, you only got one device. that includes all devices states I want to use.
But we are getting a little bit offroad on the original topic.
