Foscam camera's

Iemand ervaring met Foscam camera's die nu perfect werken met een homewizard en Synlogy Nasin combinatie met de Homey?

  • I use the motion part in the camera, it triggers a webhook on Homey so I now my child is awake or someone is at the door. Homey doesnt show an image as HW will do. You need a app from the cam itself for that.
In HW I always had a screenshot when someone presses the doorbell. Did that using pushover (doenst work out of the box with the app btw).
Also had an HW before but dont miss it.

Hi Jeroen, can you share how you were able to setup the webhook from your camera?

I've been looking for this ;)

    Regards,
    Jeroen

  • Offcourse, here you go! Looks almost the same in the other camera. Today I found out (after the same talk on Slack) that HD cams usualy dont have this option.
  • Thanks @jeroenbos22 are both your cameras Elro? I was searching for cams that support this but could only find AXIS and Linksys to support http notifications
  • I'm Using 3 Foscam HD camera's with a Synology NVR, and the Synology app with Homey, and its working good, use presence to enable and disable cams, and seperate motion to start recording and push messages..
  • One is Elro and the other is a Chinese brand but they fully copied foscam, works like a foscam, webpage in camera also exact copy.  :)
  • I can stream a snapshot from my Foscam f19803p v2 to my tv now using chromcast app ,but still no live streaming. Someone here who get this working?.
  • Not trough Homey, but I have the Synology NVR216 and it has a HDMI connection, and on a event it switch my monitor to this input. and I have all my cams on one screen with no delay. The event is comming from an IR reflector which switches also a fibaro contact, so also Homey knows there is an event and can switch the garden lights. I do not use the cam movement detection because its causing false events.

  • I stream live image through chromecast app
  • @jeroenbos22, did you have to use a php-script to push an image to your phone?
Can't find your post about it on Slack anymore :)
  • @jeroenbos22 it is not a  mpeg but h264 I have to stream
  • Hmmm I wanted HD cams but now When I hear all of this I Think Im gonna stick to the SD's. Really like the http alarm and chromecast casting. @Fire69 Yes I use a php script for that running on my remote webserver

How to fetch snapshots and MJPEG stream on HD cameras

    by FOSCAM » Fri Feb 01, 2013 6:24 am

    Hi everyone,

In order to assist with some customer requests of a HTTP URL stream for fetching JPG snapshots and MJPEG streams on HD cameras, the Foscam R&D team was able to add these features in the latest firmware!

Note: The R2/C2/FI9900P IP Camera models currently don't support the MJPEG stream.

First, please upgrade your camera with the latest firmware to use these two features.

Please see this forum thread for more information on how to download and install the latest firmware.

Fetching JPG snapshots by URL parameters

The URL example is as follows:

    http://ip address:port/cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi?cmd=snapPicture2&usr=admin&pwd=xxx

Use the above to attain a snapshot image, this also supports fetching the highest resolution stream image.

    Fetching MJPEG stream by URL

There are two steps needed to fetch the MJPEG URL stream.

Step 1: Set one of the streams to MJPEG.

As the current chipset on HD camerasonly supports two H.264 streams (Mainstream and Substream), we need to set one of the streams to an MJPEG stream, as the chipset does not support three streams. After we set one of the streams to an MJPEG stream, we can fetch the videostream using an HTTP URL.

Here is an example URL on how to set one stream to an MJPEG stream:

    http://ip address:port/cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi?cmd=setSubStreamFormat&format=1&usr=admin&pwd=

Here “1” sets an MJPEG stream, if we don't want to set the MJPEG stream, we would set the number to “0”, “0” sets an H.264 stream.

When inputting this URL and pushing "Enter" in your browser, it will return the following result:

    <CGI_Result>

    <result>0</result>

    </CGI_Result>

Step 2: After setting the MJPEG stream, it can be fetched using an HTTP URL.

See the example HTTP URL you would use to fetch the MJPEG videostream. Note that this differs from older MJPEG cameras like the FI8910W, but the videostream result is the same.

    http://ip address:port/cgi-bin/CGIStream.cgi?cmd=GetMJStream&usr=admin&pwd=xxx

Simply replace the IP address, port, username, and password into the above URL to access your camera's MJPEG stream.

You can refer to the CGI document on setSubStreamFormat and GetMJStream if you wish.

The new CGI documentation can be found here: cgi-sdk-for-hd-camera-t6045.html

Any updates on this? Really a shame the Homey doesn't support camera's. Big miss!

Well they already told us image tags are coming on 23-6-17, to build support for specific devices is always up to the community. Athom makes the groundwork and community makes the building :) I also don't want Athom to waste time on devices someone is using because every users has his own devices and priorities.

In the future we'll be adding Flow 'or' cards in the '...and...' column and image-type Flow Tags (as a preparation for Webcams).
