  • Hi! Thank you for supporting us. We got some new information from Eneco so we can continue. I cannot tell you when we will release the app but let's hope everything will go smooth from here.

    wow finally good news
  • @Annemarie  Is there any news?
  • I've read on slack that @Annemarie is testing the app.
  • Great thx  :)
  • i was considering to get a toon, but they tell me it is not ready for city-heatingsystem (stadsverwarming). i told the nice lady on the phone that it is nonsense, but they don't want to send me one :-1:  . the heatingsystem in my house has a normal 24v open/close control using a valve on the inlet, just like in a normal heatingsystem that they actually do support. so i still not sure what to use.. multi-room system from honeywell or this toon. i like the toon better and it can be used to control z-wave devices as a plus and on the other side the honeywell evohome is rock-solid and does the job very well from what i hear /seen/ viewed. i just need to be able to control the valve and all rooms temps separatly.

  • @Da_JoJo I am far from a techspecialist but a happy user of Homey and Toon as well.
As far as I know does Toon use the Zigbee protocol. It is functioning more or less in the same way as a usual (oldfashioned?) regulator, situated in the living room. Using as a multiroom regulator is not possible in my opinion. For the last Evohome is the right choice, but in combination with "stadsverwarming"? I donot know.....

@JanH  ah thanks. toon is using zigbee and z-wave, but indeed it seems not to do multi-room. so i guess im going for the evohome as soon as i find confirmation that their valve can be used in combination with my floor-heating. as in: the normal 1-6 valve on the floor-heating divider can be replaced with this thermostate knob for normal heaters. also i would like to exchange the pump for a grundfoss alpha III instead of the normal grundfoss that it uses now.. i plan to do all of the stuff in summer when i don't need the heating, just in case. perhaps there are alternatives by then. and yes all of them work with stadsverwarming, because i have a danfoss valve inbetween the supply line which is controlled by 24v on/off type, for now a honeywell round on/off version. this turns on and off the valve, basicly same as it would turn on or off the gas type heatingsystem in a normal house installation.

@Da_JoJo : Have you checked the ThermoSmart thermostat?
  • You might also look for tado.
can also do multi zone, has a homey app, geofence, does also support HomeKit and you can find a 10% discount at tweakers.net forum.
only downside is that their overwhelmed at blackfriday when they had a 20% discount so they are a little behind delivering schedule ( I thought I read at tweakers it's now scheduled in february if you order them on their website with 10% discount) but without the 10% discount they are in stock at other websites for regular prices (and also above so pay attention ;)
another trick is that the valves starterskit with 2 valves and a seperate additional thermostat is the same but cheaper as the thermostat starterskit and 2 valves..
oh and the difference between Version 2 and version 3 is HomeKit support at the gateway which is part of the starterskit (valves starterskit is version 3 only)

support is very good and quick...
and there is a Public roadmap at https://support.tado.com/hc/en-gb/articles/205505299-What-new-Features-are-planned-What-is-on-the-Development-Roadmap-

the tado looks very nice indeed, but also no fancy display stuff. i really like to have a nice display.i was thinking perhaps the homey app on a tab 2 can do this, alas there is only this voice thing on the app. either way it would be cool to have a nice display on the place where the old thermostate is now. also i like to control all temps from one point on the wall whether it is a tablet or a control device. i dont care about the costs, i just want it to work

  • If so you can indeed use a tablet for the fancy interface, statistics etc which will have bugs which will probably be fixed through a app update.
the thermostat firmware itself is less likely to be updated so IMHO that should only do core thermostat functionality..

    just my 2 cents..
  • @Annemarie how is the testing going?
  • Nogmaals op het Eneco forum een berichtje geplaatst  :)
  • Posted a message on the Eneco Forum
  • @Annemarie can you please give us a status update? And please avoid using "sooner then later" because I get "vlekjes" from it...

it is months ago that I heard a time frame of weeks.. I think it's time to launch a beta of something... no problem if it isn't working 100% stable. After such a period it's probably stable enough to test some flows with it...

Last report i saw come by was that the toon wasn't responding 25% of the time to homey, and was thanks to the toon itself.
So the ball is with eneco once again, it is impossible to give a hard time frame if you only can have contact via email and are reliant on slow responses of eneco
(they are really slow with responding, also since so many companies have trouble with the official API)

Edit:   so i found the github: https://github.com/athombv/nl.eneco.toon   and toon had issues during September (getting toon to work on it self).

Answered 1. How do we install the project from github to the homey?

Answered 2. Since eneco got toon working stable again now for the past months could athom give it another go?

    Annemarie:
We gave it another go but it was still not good enough. 25% of the time their api was offline which meant we did not get real-time updates. We're back in contact with them so we hope for a solution any time soon.

    Thanks
  • I can only give an answer to the 1st question: https://forum.athom.com/discussion/1448/how-to-cli-install-method
