Tile and Homey?

I was wondering if it would be possible to make a Homey app that connects to Tiles? I (almost) always have my keys with a Tile with me, so has my wife. Would be great that if Homey sees that certain Tiles are within bluetooth range, this can be used to trigger flows as a presence detection.

  • Tile is a bluetooth beacon which sends a signal to a phone-app. Seeing how it works, the phone-app constantly updates the location of the received tag to a central server. I doubt they will open up their BT-protocol for other receivers? Otoh : why not?
  • Isn't Homey able to receive Bluetooth beacon signals?

Homey has the BT antenne, unfortunately BT isn't released yet.
BT is a standard, so if Athom is following that standard (which I expect :) ) then Homey should be able to receive and send data.

The signal send by the tile will probably contain an identifier for the product in general and an identifier for the sending device. As the tile's are also able to receive a signal and act on it (make a sound) the data will be encrypted. Don't know if you can decrypt the signals?
