App idea: Chat (with Homey)

Hello There,

I think it would be very cool and useful to combine the speech input and output in a chat-like interface where you can simply chat with Homey as it were speech.

You can for example trigger flows by your typed messages, let Homey give you feedback like it's talking to you and let apps that speaks to you talk to you.

If it can use the voice input and output function that already has a webinterface and uses a similar webinterface or maybe a stand-alone (open) chat platform the work to create it wouldn't be that hard.

Homey is already talking, let's expand that :)

    You mean like:
    http:// <ip> /manager/speech-input/
    http:// <ip> /manager/speech-output/
    but then combined?

  • Yes that, including some interfaces like a webinterface (ofcourse), a client for pc, mobile devices. Not that it needs all seperate clients but it could work on one of the existing multiplatform chat or message services.

Seems doable looking at the telegram bot api? :p

  • Somebody who can build this then?

Use pushbullet app, create a flow with the pushbullet trigger card. Now you can send stuff to homey, and do somethin based on the received message.
  • I might have a look at it on a rainy day.

Then again, this should actually be core functionality of Homey :)
