wall switch / dimmer replacement

Hi all,

Currently i'm using Jung as500 alphine white switches and dimmers. To let others still be able to controll the lights i would like to replace them with something that is still a fysical button and usable by homey controll to do dimming and on/ off.

There is a wall box behind where a switch/ dimmer or something can fit.

I'm stuck at what i could / schould use instead of this.

Any suggestions are welcome.

  • I'm using multiple things like
    http://www.klikaanklikuit.nl/shop/nl/awmr-300/

Small and very easy to install.

Agree, but unfortunately KAKU currently offers devices with unidirectional communication only, so read-out of actual state (on/off/...) is not possible. I consider this to be a huge disadvantage over other devices that use, for example, ZWave.
  • Thanks for the reply, i know these are dimmer replacements but i'm missing the fysical button or is that connected / included? If not what is the advice, i prefer a cable switch due to cable dimmer and if all went down it will still work.
  • You mount these dimmers behind the physical switch on the wall. So you can turn them on/off with the switch but can also do this with homey (and dimming via homey). I have the KAKU AWMD-250 and it works fine. Less functionality than fibaro but also only half the price  ;)
  • These will work: http://shop.brighters.nl/schakelaars-n-dimmers/dimmers
You can basically use the Z-Wave.me ones, they are fine and work great.

Indeed, that is a downside, but if you look at the pricing, is that still as cheap as a KAKU switch?

its worth it. Consider all the single, hold, double click, triple click options you get with fibaro. Also the 433 mhz COCO (Click On Click Off) devices generate a lot of noise (sends signals 5 times to be more sure it's received). This makes a COCO house much slower than a z-wave house. These are the reasons I switched from COCO to z-ware 2 years ago for all primary functionality.
  • The extra click functionality is pretty cool. But does it needs a new pulse trigger to work? Or does it also work with 'old' on/off switches?

ZWave are configurable for mono- and bistabil switches I prefere the bistabil (pulse) in particular for dimmers. Yoe should check the manual available on the site of the vendors

For the Jung as500 you can just buy pulsdrukkers. And you can use the same faceplates so it looks exactly the same as it does right now.

    @MarkVanWinden ;
How did you managed to get it to work with homey? Only the regular wall switch will make the AWMR-300 switch. If homey turns it on and I switch it off  (by using the regular wall switch) Homey is unable switch it again.

    I've this one:
    Merk: Z-Wave.me
    Model: Dimmer Set for Everlux
    SKU: ZME_05433

And happy with them! Is complete set
  • I've installed the mini build-in switch CoCo AWMR-300. The setup works fine with a CoCo remote. Homey can switch the light on, but cannot switch it off, although the remote - which is working fine - is copied by Homey. Homey is able to receive the on- ánd off-signal of the remote. Homey just don't seem to send the off-signal correctly.
Is see the AWMR-300 is not specifically mentioned as a supported CoCo-device.
    Any solutions, anyone?

I have a similar problem with one of my KaKu lamps, will see tonight which type it is..
  • I found the solution to my problem mentioned above. It was a range problem. Now my Homey is nearer the receiver, the off-signal
comes through aswell. Somehow the on-signal is 'stronger' than the off-signal? Weird. (In my flow controlling this receiver I already repeated the off-signal, to be sure, but that didn't help. So, AMWR-300 from CoCo is working fine. But my confidence in the range of the 433Mhz-transmitter is less fine now.
