  • Nice! Was testing with this yesterday. Are you considering enabling Homey as a Pushover client so it can receive push messages?

  • Awesome! Welcome to the club!

Just a question about the use case of this app. The Homey mobile app natively supports push notifications. Why would you need pushover support?
  • I don't have an android device, so as of now I can't use the native notification cards.

Plus pushover gives the ability to give priority to a notification.
  • As I am waiting on the IOS app as well, I would certainly use Pushover as a notification method, at least until the IOS app is available and stable.
  • Only one word.......

    TOPPPIE !

  • Please include the ability to set the device option ! my wife hates getting all the technical notifications  :)
  • Excellent work!!!
  • Thats nice !!
  • Pushover app is submitted for aproval

    There are 5 Flow cards:
    - Lowest priority
    - Low priority
    - Normal priority
    - High priority

    - Normal priority to send notification to specific device.

@John: Yes, I added a flow card to only push it to one device. For now you need to type in the device its name. Maybe later I will add an option to get all devices from your user key.
  • Any update on the approval of the Pushover app?

@aloft: yes, the app wasn't aproved because I used the driver method, and since drivers are only allowed for physical devices and not for services, I had to change it to use a settings page instead of the driver method.

I have re-written the app last night, and waiting now for aproval.
  • maybe move this thread to the App cat ?
  • Pushover is now available in the app store.  :)
  • I have registered Homey as an Application, and used the userkey and app key in the settings. But when a flow is triggered, the pushover notification isn't received. It doesn't show up on pushover.net as a sent message.
I tried all 3 options: normal, high and to a specific device.

when I test the flow, I don't see a green checkmark on the card.

@aloft Could you please try to reboot your Homey under System > stuff for geeks show > Reboot.

I had the same issue after updating to .20 and installing Pushover, after a reboot it worked.
  • @Panda ; rebooting after the upgrade helped indeed. thanks!
  • here also a reboot fixed the alerts! thank you for the tip!

Found the bug that caused it, will be fixed in next version. My apologies.

For now enter user & token key and save, then reboot your Homey.
  • Version 0.0.3 is submitted and waiting for Approval.

A few things have changed, I went from 5 flow cards for each priority to 2 flow cards. One flow card to send a notification to all devices, with a dropdown list to select priority and another flow card to send a notification to a specific device. Version 0.0.3 will automatically get your devices connected to your Pushover account and you will be able to select a priority to the notification.

  • @Panda ;: Do you think it will be possible to copy / convert this app to work with the Pushalot  (https://pushalot.com/) service?? It's kind of the same idea as Pushover. Pushover is not available for Windows Phone so that's why I use Pushalot.

Hope you can and are willing to look into this

just installed it, tryed it, works like a charm, using it for my alarm system to push notifications when there is a fire alarm or a break in,

was wondering if we can push update's, for example  home's firmware, or automated app updates?
  • I'm using it for my doorbell, works like a charm indeed till the Homey app gets released for iOS

Hey Robert: Yes, I have been looking into this, hopefuly I have some spare time next week to work on it. I don't have an Windows phone myself so will test it using the Windows 10 client, are you willing to help me test this on your Windows phone?

MarcelKuijper If Athom makes this info available in the flow editor it should be possible.
  • Hi Panda, sure no problem   The more apps that come available for Homey the better right?
It's to bad I cannot write code myself, so I would be more than happy to help out with testing!
